there are several ways to get coins, one is indeed posting replies where you can get 1 coin at a time.
You can also make threads yourself which will grant you 2 coins.

There's a new function called VIP member, if you but that you don't need to get coins to download skins and you're the most honarable member of the forum. Unlimited VIP members does cost around €10 if I'm right.
