Almost everysingle skin I painted them in Getamped skin editor itself.
( Getamped painting system is good enough for pixel work like skin making )
Some skinmakers I know in Thai use Photoshop to paint the whole skin ( only some skinmaker mainly uses Photoshop )
It's up to you to work on Getampd or PS( I reccommended GA cuz I can see the skin while im painting )
**Most of my new skin ( the newest fives ) I finished them in GA then I adjusted the color and sharpness and some texture in PS.

I do not paint base from any picture, I pick the color by masuring the number by myself and draw in my style.
( that's why I rarely make skin from anime character or any character that already have their own style
I just don't like copying the style from anyone, I prefer making my own. )
About color selecting, easy way to set the value is the higher number the lighter the color will be
and the lower number the darker color will be.
** Or if you need the exact colors of the character you're making, you may just pick the colors from the picture directly
by using paint or photoshop for the accurate color***

And the most important thing is the "A" value which is the transparency of the color you're using.
Keep changing this value while you're painting.

ETC
- I love to start with darker color then work on lighter color
( You may look up at some of my new skin topics which I alway put the face painting process on all of them to show how I paint them in 7 steps)
- alway uses "Smooth" ( for GA skin editor )
- I use only line tool, I've never uses pencil tool before, since we're working with ordinary mouse, the line tools work better.
( If you prefer to use Tablet mouse then you may try pencil tool, but I wouldn't reccommended tablet mouse for pixel work. )
- **The more skin you make, the better skill you got**.

For more information if you can't find anything in here, you may look up at my Thai forum

http://www.getamped.in.th/webboa ... ?f=7&t=1086&start=0

I uploaded the picture of all my skins in the first post, you may search from the last page to see the detail of each skin ( I don't put the skin detail and information in the first page, you need to search for it in my topic by yourself )
Hope this help {:4_116:}

Hmm... can i asked what kind of head parts you use...( i mainly use blue helmet and The cake hat since my server doesnt have dragon heads or the Straw hat)
Also... is the skin editor in Thailand make the face 246x246 pixels?!
or do you make all these skins with 64x64 pixel sized ones???
