converted skins means that you won't be able to see the head, mostly festive dragon/lion head in the skinmaker but WILL be able to buy the skin WITH hair.

This method is used because some servers do not have the festive dragon/lion head in their databases, because of that the skin would not be buy-able. Convert skins are the solution for that servers. Even though the server does not have the head in the database, you will be able to but it because it's converted.

That, is exactly what converted skins are, and the meaning of it

The problem with skin converting is
Chance for people to re-sell those free skin that are not converted for their own benefit

That's why even though you know the method, you can't really tell people how to do it
For instance, you told the wrong people, and he abuse that technique for their own profit
It could be dangerous right?
